You do not even know what unexpected causes of fatigue are hiding in your home.
If every day you feel that working or training activities are difficult for you, and in the evenings you are completely out of feet for no apparent reason, this may signal regular sleep disturbances, or even acquired chronic fatigue. But the causes of fatigue may be the most unexpected, and often they are hidden in household items and products that are familiar to us. Where to wait for the danger in your own apartment - we tell below.
Mess in the house
Scientists at the University of St. Lawrence and Princeton University have found that our state of health is directly affected by the presence of confusion in the room. It is a strong irritant that affects us immediately at the visual, olfactory and tactile level, causes guilt, and therefore provokes stress and fatigue, preventing us from relaxing.
It is proved that a person works better and understands when his work space is properly organized, there are no unnecessary things on the table, everything lays in its place and nothing distracts. However, this concerns not only the workplace, but also at home. The disorder works in exactly the opposite way. In addition, our ancient instincts are connected to perception, which, at a subconscious level, can see a potential threat even in a pile of unassembled linen or papers (what if a serpent crawl out of there now?). Therefore, it is better to put all the things where you took them, do not postpone washing dishes, taking out the garbage, and carry out a large cleaning of the apartment once a week.
Blackout curtains and blinds
If at home you are constantly hiding from the hot sun behind the thick curtains and lowered blinds, and at work you are sitting in an office with no windows, then add a lack of daylight to the causes of fatigue and lack of sleep. Darkness is good and very necessary at night, when the body needs to rest and gain strength during the night's sleep, but in the morning and in the afternoon serotonin is produced in our body under the influence of daylight, and it is he who is in charge of whether we are in a good mood and we resist stress.
Therefore, both at home and at work, try to keep the curtains or at least the blinds open so that daylight comes in to you. And at night, on the contrary, you should carefully close all curtains, blinds, turn off all lights, if possible wear a sleep mask, because at this time melatonin is produced in the body: it restores our body, supports immunity, rejuvenates, helps to fight stress. Then the natural rhythms of the body will be in order, the cycle of sleep and wakefulness will not stray, and at least one cause of fatigue you get rid of.
A TV that works in the background during cleaning or cooking, or directly while watching movies / TV shows will not harm the body, but immediately before going to bed its effect on a person can be entered into hidden causes of fatigue. It is especially harmful to fall asleep while the TV is on: there will be no sense from such a dream, you will still wake up tired and broken. Why? The matter is again in the above-mentioned daily rhythm regulator - the hormone melatonin, which is not produced by visible light emission.
To avoid such a negative impact, try not to watch TV at night, as well as in those moments when you are very tired - the TV turned on will simply lull you to sleep.
In general, any light source included during sleep and any gadget can disrupt your sleep and cause further fatigue and stress, but you should pay particular attention to your smartphone. The National Sleep Foundation in the United States (NSF) conducted a study that helped to identify the causes of fatigue among young people: as it turned out, about 20% of young people surveyed (from 19 to 29 years old) wake up at night when they hear the sound of an SMS message or messenger. And the problem is not only in sound: even silent mode will not save you from flickering display when incoming messages.
The solution is simple: a return to the good old alarm clocks, which, to the surprise of modern children, do not perform any other functions except the display of the current time and the alarm clock. It is better to either turn off the smartphone or leave it outside the bedroom to stop this energetic vampirism.
Surprisingly, such household items as scented candles are also causes of fatigue. You will be surprised, because usually they not only help to eliminate unpleasant smells in the room, fill it with fragrance, but also raise the spirits, and sometimes even remove the feeling of tiredness and invigorate. However, some flavors are quite the opposite. In particular, its soporific effect is known for the scent of lavender, which not only relaxes, but also causes drowsiness, and in a person with fatigue it will only aggravate this feeling.
Relaxing effect, which only increases the feeling of fatigue, can also cause the aromas of chamomile, vanilla, rose. Nobody calls you to give up your favorite scented candles and essential oils, it's just better to give preference to more invigorating fragrances, for example, citrus or spicy.
Coffee and Alcohol
First of all, alcohol should be included in the causes of fatigue among drinks. Even a glass of innocent at first glance red wine before bedtime can cause you to wake up almost exhausted in the morning. Good sleep after alcohol actually borders on myths: you’ll get to sleep faster, but the sleep itself will be rather restless and unhealthy.
Other causes of fatigue are caffeinated beverages. In the mornings, he can really give you energy, invigorate and direct you to daytime accomplishments, but if you drink coffee or strong tea after lunch, or even in the evening, then you most likely will feel even more tired. In addition, regular consumption of coffee takes away your energy and slowly depletes the body, so the duration of the effect of the drink is reduced, and the feeling of weakness comes faster and lasts longer.
By the way, there is a small percentage of people who are caffeine genetically acting the opposite way at any time of the day.
Common causes of fatigue that make you not cheerful enough every day, get tired quickly and fall off your feet are foods that are high in sugar and fat: baking, sweets, sausages, fast food. Digestion of fatty and heavy foods is a long process, on which your body spends a lot of energy, sweet foods, on the contrary, are quickly digested, therefore, the resulting energy is quickly spent, and fatigue does not keep itself waiting.
Better go to vegetables, fruits, whole grains, nuts, drink plenty of water and do not forget about exercise - at least warm-up and walks in the fresh air - and then the eating habits will no longer adversely affect your well-being.
