How to cook pies with cabbage and eggs?

The traditional recipe for preparing the cake involves working with yeast dough, therefore, starting the process, you should be patient, attention and, of course, all the necessary ingredients. So, for the preparation of lush yeast dough, you will need:
- 0.5 kg of sifted wheat flour;
- 1 teaspoon (without top) dry yeast;
- 200 ml of milk;
- 2 chicken eggs;
- 1 teaspoon sugar;
- 70 g of sunflower oil;
- 1 teaspoon salt.
To make a pie with cabbage and egg turned out to be as tasty and useful as possible, its filling must be juicy and balanced. To do this, her recipe includes the following ingredients:
- 0.5 kg of fresh white cabbage;
- 3 hard boiled eggs;
- 1 onion;
- 4-5 tablespoons of sunflower oil;
- fresh dill (optional);
- salt and pepper to taste.
The recipe for making pies traditionally begins with the preparation of dough.To do this, pour the dry yeast into the slightly warmed milk and stir until it is completely dissolved. Next, rub one of two eggs with sugar and salt, then combine with a mixture of milk and yeast, mix well. In the resulting mixture, gradually introduce the flour and begin to knead the dough. In the resulting homogeneous mass, you must add sunflower oil and continue to knead until the dough no longer stick to your hands.
To bring the consistency of the dough to the desired state, it is necessary that it fits. To do this, lubricate it with vegetable oil, cover with a towel on top and leave in a warm, preferably dark place for 20-30 minutes. After the time has elapsed, knead the dough again and leave it covered in a warm place again.
At this time, we make sure that the combined filling receives the correct heat treatment, as required by the recipe. For a start, rather finely chop the cabbage and also finely chop the peeled onion. On a heated and poured pan put the onion and fry it to a transparent state. After that add chopped cabbage to the pan and fry, stirring occasionally, so that the vegetables do not burn.
After heat treatment, the cabbage filling should cool, so leave it for some time.
In the meantime, we clean and chop the hard-boiled chicken eggs, chop the dill and combine everything with the cooled cabbage. Thus, it turned out a full-fledged combined filling, which can be supplemented with a moderate amount of salt and ground black pepper.
The dough must be divided into two parts and rolled out two layers, one of which is placed in a greased form with sunflower oil. The filling is laid out on this layer of dough, after which it is covered with the second layer and is well fastened with fingers. At this stage, leave the cake for 10 minutes to brew, as required by the recipe, then lubricate with a beaten egg and set in an oven preheated to a temperature of 200 degrees. In this temperature mode, we bake the product for 10 minutes, then reduce the degrees to 180 and continue to bake for about half an hour to the ready state.
By the way, based on a similar set of ingredients, you can make an open, thinner pie with a larger diameter, the recipe of which is also considered traditional. However, for this you will additionally need:
- 100 ml of milk;
- 5 raw chicken eggs;
- 4 tablespoons of medium-fat mayonnaise.
To begin, roll out one layer about 0.5 cm thick and lay it in a baking mold or a baking sheet, pre-lubricated with vegetable oil, and form the sides of dough to 2 cm high with fingers. Mix the eggs, milk and mayonnaise, mix, salt and beat . The result should be a consistency similar to an omelet.
Next, cooked cabbage filling is filled with the mixture, thoroughly mixed and evenly spread on the layer. Next, the cake is placed in the oven, preheated to 200 degrees, and baked for 25-30 minutes. The result is a fragrant open pie with a delicious tender filling.
If you prefer puff pastry or simply do not have enough time to make homemade cake, pay attention to a simpler cooking recipe.In this case, you do not need to cook the dough yourself - it is enough to buy 2 sheets of yeast puff pastry in any supermarket.
So, to make a layer cake with cabbage and egg, defrost the dough, roll out 2 layers, one of which is laid out in a form. As in the previous version, we form the bumpers. Spread the prepared filling evenly over the seam, then gently cover with the second layer and fasten the edges. Be sure to lubricate the resulting raw product with a beaten egg and bake a layer cake in the oven, preheated to the same 200 degrees 40-45 minutes until a golden, brown crust appears.
In addition, if you have the same ingredients, you can make patties with cabbage and eggs from puff pastry - this is especially true if a large company is going to. The recipe assumes that one rolled layer 2-3 mm thick is cut using a round shape into pieces with a diameter of 8-10 cm.
Then the filling is placed on the pieces - 2 teaspoons each, after which the edges of the dough are bonded, giving the crescent-shaped cakes to the cakes. As well as the cake, grease the patties with an egg.
