Nutritional supplements are naturally occurring natural compounds and various chemicals that are added to food products for various purposes: longer storage, improved taste and appearance, and so on. One problem: some of them are not harmless, and sometimes very dangerous. Let's see what products with which additives can be safely eaten, and what should be strictly avoided.

Nutritional supplements are a kind of magic wand for manufacturers and sellers. Thanks to them, products are stored longer, have a richer taste, and visual appeal also improves.But only more and more often you can find in the media the news that this or that supplement causes cancer or other diseases - various allergies, disorders, etc.

It is clear that their influence on a person depends primarily on the individual characteristics of the organism and the presence of certain pathologies. A significant role is played by the dose of the substance entering the body. Numerous experiments were carried out for each of them and the permissible daily dose was derived.

This does not mean that taking a dose, you can immediately expect death, but it is sure to affect health. In some cases, a lower dose will be enough for the onset of negative effects.

For example, E250 is sodium nitrate used in sausages. Its permissible dose is a few milligrams per kilogram of the body. For smoked sausages rate is slightly higher for cooked - lower because a person uses less than smoked. Given that everyone knows that E250 is a toxic substance, no manufacturer can do without it, since only it can provide a presentation of the product. If you do not believe, try making homemade sausage - its color will be consistently dark brown. That is, although the additive is harmful, no one forbids it.In this case, the consumer must decide whether to buy or not to buy.

If we talk about such an additive as E330 (synthetic citric acid), then its allowable rate is only a few tenths of a gram per kilogram of the body. When consuming certain supplements, one should not forget that they tend to accumulate in the body, and at any moment the critical mass can “shoot”.

Yogurts are loved by many, but they do not have enough time, then desire, to cook them. It is better to buy a finished product. Notice the pink color of some yogurt? Beautiful and probably delicious. How to cheat buyers

Manufacturers resort to all sorts of tricks to sell the product. Due to the fact that the buyer has become more sophisticated and heard about harmful additives, some manufacturers do not indicate the ingredient code at all, but write the name of the additive itself. For example, "monosodium glutamate", which is now used in almost all types of seasonings.

However, few people know that natural monosodium glutamate, derived from algae, and synthetic - different things. The latter can cause destructive changes in the brain and the fundus of the eye, if used frequently and in large quantities.
